Development of personality in the Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus)
(2023-2026) funded by Icelandic research Fund RANNÍS

The overall objective of this project is to investigate the development of personality traits and underlying mechanisms in the Arctic charr. We hypothesize that personality traits are partly genetically determined and can be influenced by the environment experienced early in life, i.e., consistency, mean values and correlates. This project will also attempt to advance the knowledge in fish welfare by focusing on inter-individual differences rather than on the group level.
